The executives of Local airline Starbow has announced to operate in Sunyani of Brong Ahafo Region, which will begin a 4x weekly Sunyani - Accra on 10th July 2015.

The Chartered Institute of Marketing Domestic airline of the Year, Starbow is currently operating 39 flights a week to the three Ghanaian destinations from its base at Kotoka International Airport, namely Kumasi, Takoradi and Tamale.

The airline plans to fly to Accra every Saturday, with its 180 seat Airbus A320s.This new route will enable passengers flying from Accra to connect via Barcelona with Vueling’s more than 155 destinations in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

The document was presented to Parliament by the Ministry of Transport and signed by the Chief Director at the Ministry, T A Selby.

Source: myjoyonline.com / 17.03.2015  - Construction works on a new terminal at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) are set to begin by next month. The terminal which will be completed December 2016 will handle international passengers and flights at Kotoka. The construction has been influenced by the increasing number of international flights operating out of the airport which has put pressure on facilities at KIA.

Source: B&FT  -  The commencement of night flights between Accra and Kumasi has started drawing more passengers on the domestic route, a situation operators are excited about even though it is early days yet.

Night flights on the domestic front were made possible by the installation of an Aeronautical Ground Lighting system (AGL) and total resurfacing of the Kumasi runway.

The Tamale Airport is expected to be completed by September 2015 for operation as a second international airport in the country.
Airport authorities say the finished airport will have all the facilities of a modern airport, and have spacious maintenance bays and hangers for airlines. 
“The project will be completed by September and inaugurated the same month,” an airport source told the B&FT
